THE MOHAWK TRAIL AT A GLANCE

The Mohawk Trail, State Route 2 from Orange to Williamstown, was America's first scenic automobile route. Spectacular in all seasons, the trail is at its most brilliant in the fall.

CHECK IT OUT

The Hail to the Sunrise monument commemorates the Mohawk Trail's origins as a Native American trail; it depicts a Mohawk Indian looking to the east with arms uplifted to the Great Spirit. Stop at the Whitcomb Summit, the highest point on the Trail, for a four-state view. Every summer, some of the world’s finest chamber musicians gather at the acoustically-perfect Charlemont Federated Church to play at much-celebrated Mohawk Trail Concerts.
